Hello! I'm Daniel (Dan) Katz. I grew up outside Philadelphia, studied mathematics and theater at MIT and then more mathematics at Brown, spent a few years in North Carolina, and now I'm back in Providence. My preferred pronouns are he/him/his.

In Fall , I was appointed as a Lecturer in Mathematics, a newly established position at Brown, and in I was promoted to Senior Lecturer. My responsibilities include teaching calculus, overseeing Brown's calculus program, undergraduate curriculum development, and teacher training.

I am also the department's Placement Advisor, which means I give students advice about which courses they should take within the calculus-linear algebra sequence. (Though before talking to me, students may wish to utilize the online tools posted here.) Students seeking advice about level courses and above should contact one of the department's Directors of Undergraduate Studies, listed here.

Daniel has spent the entirety of his professional career advising F companies on all things cybersecurity including security strategy and transformation, risk management, penetration testing, incident response, digital forensics, implementation and compliance with various regulations and standards (e.g. FISMA, FDA k, NIST CSF/, SWIFT Cyber Security Programme, CIS, Canada OSFI, etc.) Most recently, he has focused his time on the intersection of information security and Agile methodologies for delivery, successfully implementing the Scaled Agile framework (SAFe) for a F50 technology company.

Prior to joining Mazars, Dan led security communications and organizational change for the world’s largest candy and pet care company. He also worked for both Protiviti and Deloitte delivering world class consulting solutions to the cyber marketplace.

Dan received his Bachelor of Science in Business Analytics and Information Technology from Rutgers University.

    Dan besitter psykologexamen från Stockholms högskola och psykoterapeutexamen från Uppsala Universitet. han är dessutom handledarutbildad på Stockholms högskola.

    Dan har tidigare arbetat inom vuxenpsykiatrin dock driver sedan privat reception i centrala Stockholm. Förutom behandling samt handledning undervisar Dan inom KBT på utbildningar hos bland andra Karolinska Institutet och Stockholms Universitet.

    En ytterligare viktig bisyssla är för att svara på psykologirelaterade frågor från tidningar, radio samt TV samt att hjälpa massmedia genom att förmedla kontakter tillsammans med andra experter inom KBT.

    Dan Katz släppte den mycket uppskattade populär­psykologiska boken "Ödlan inom Huvudet" liksom även rönt uppmärksamhet utomlands med utgivning i bl.a. Tyskland, Ryssland och Kina.
